It’s not an espresso maker, as the box suggests, but it is a great little single cup coffee maker. It’s sort of like a French press crossed with a really big syringe. It uses a small paper filter at its base, so there aren’t fines as with a French press, but it still produces coffee with nice body—certainly better than with your average drip maker. It’s also very, very quick—takes about 15 seconds, once your water is off the boil. And it’s a snap to clean up. The rubber plunger acts as a squeegee, so after you’ve pressed your coffee into your mug, you just unscrew the bottom filter, pop the paper filter and puck into your compost bucket, and rinse.
